Lantern Making Class- The Great Cultural Heritage of Hoi An

A Collapsible Hoi An Souvenir
You will notice Hoi An lanterns best at night. Hoi An people believe that hanging lanterns in front of their house brings luck, happiness, and wealth to the family.
To start, you will take chance to taste the traditional Vietnamese tea and enjoy the various flavors of tea during the lantern making lesson.
Our Lanterns are made of silk and bamboo and come in many shapes such as lotus, diamond, sunrise, sunset.
Covers the complete 11 steps in making your own lantern:
Step 1: Attach 12 bamboo stakes together with wire thread
Step 2 and 3: Shape the stakes into a sunrise (inverted triangle) or sunset (triangle) formation
Step 4: Insert the bamboo stakes into a hanger and secure the stakes with thread
Step 5: Select your desired silk and color
Step 6: Apply glue and let it dry
Step 7: Set silk and stretch the silk to cover the stakes
Step 8: Fully cover the sides with silk
Step 9: Cover the top and bottom of the hanger with silk strips
Step 10: Select a tassel for the lantern base
Step 11: Finished! Your lantern can also be folded and stowed in your luggage to be brought home
