What to Expect When Visiting Sóc Sơn, Hà Nội, Vietnam

Itinerary

Day 1: HANOI ARRIVAL

Pass By: Hanoi, Hanoi
Upon arrival at Vietnam’s Airport, our driver will welcome you and transfer you to hotel in Hanoi. The rest of your day is at leisure for independent exploration – just catch a sight of the city or explore the maze of streets in the city’s centre.

Day 2: HANOI CITY TOUR

Stop At: Hanoi, Hanoi
The pick-up starts from 7.30 am to 8 am. The colonial capital city Hanoi is a unique Asian city with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and oriental pagodas and temples dating back thousand years ago. This full day tour takes you around Hanoi’s most interesting sights, including the Ho Chi Minh Complex: Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and his Stilts House, Presidential Palace and the One Pillar Pagoda nearby, and the Old Quarter also known as the 36 streets and guilds. Also on the tour – the Lake of the Restored Sword and Ngoc Son Temple, the Temple of Literature, peaceful West Lake with lovers street Thanh Nien, the sedate Tran Quoc Pagoda and Quan Thanh Temple and one of the city’s museums, either the History Museum or the Ethnology Museum.
Please note that the HCM Mausoleum is closed on Fridays and Mondays and most museums are closed on Mondays.

Day 3: EXPLORE A LOST WORLD IN HOA LU AND TAM COC

Stop At: Hoa Lu temples of the Dinh & Le Dynasties, Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh 40000 Vietnam
Get picked up by our friendly guide then depart for Ninh Binh province around 7:30 to 8:00 am. Upon arrival visit Hoa Lư ancient capital of Vietnam between 968 and 1010. You will have a chance to learn about Vietnamese history in the feudal system under Dinh, Le and Ly Dynasty.
Have buffet lunch in the restaurant with a lot of local foods goat meat, fried rice (vegetarian food is also available).

Stop At: Tam Coc, Ninh Binh 430000 Vietnam
After the lunch visit Tam Coc by 1.5 hour bamboo boat. During the boat trip, you will be surprised by the charming beauty here with paddy field, river, water, clouds, sky and stunning cave system. All make a masterpiece which Vietnamese people called “ Halong Bay on land”. Continue the tour with 45 minutes – cycling around the village to discover the life of local people. After the cycling trip you depart back to Hanoi.

Day 4: HANOI – HALONG BAY – SHARING CRUISE

Stop At: Halong Bay, Halong Bay, Quang Ninh Province
In the morning, check-out from hotel and get pick-up by the Cruise. The pick-up time will start from 7.30 am to 8 am. Take a route most scenic to reach Halong Bay, taking you across the Red River Delta with emerald green rice paddies stretching for as far as the eyes can see. On arrival at Halong, you get to enjoy a cruise on the Bay to better explore the limestone rocks and the karst grottoes. After you are done with your exploration of the bay, it is time to enjoy an utterly delicious seafood lunch, after which a trip to the famous limestone cave in Ha Long bay, you’ll get to spend some time here, kayaking or swimming, so that you can get closer to the floating villages and shops. Towards the evening, you will return to the boat for an early dinner, followed by some time at leisure. You can opt to attend the activities taking part in the boat or relax for the day.

Day 5: MORNING IN THE MOST FAMOUS BAY – FLIGHT TO HO CHI MINH CITY

Stop At: Halong Bay, Halong Bay, Quang Ninh Province
Rise early for a lesson in Tai Chi or just to enjoy a hearty breakfast. The boat will make its way back to the port stopping at the Limestone Cave, full of stalagmites and stalactites. From here, it’s clear sailing back to the main harbor and the return Hanoi around 16:00.

Pass By: Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City
Then you will be transferred to the airport for your evening flight to Ho Chi Minh. Upon arrival our driver will meet you and take you to your hotel.

Day 6: MEKONG DELTA TOUR

Stop At: My Tho, My Tho, Tien Giang Province, Mekong Delta
Kick start your day with a hearty breakfast and a trip to Mekong Delta follows. Depart for My Tho, the town lies on the left side of the Mekong River. Upon arrival on board the sampan and cruise down the river around the four beautiful islands known as Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix and Tortoise islands.
Have a stopover at Unicorn Island, where you will take a walk around the country lane and see the orchards, enjoy tropical fruits, folk songs and music, performed by the local people, and visit the fruit plantation.
Then you will ride a hand-rowed sampan through Thoi Son canal and treat yourself with the beauty of the countryside, then visit the family workshops and honey-bee farm, where you could enjoy honey tea and coconut candies.
Have lunch at a local restaurant. Break time.
In the afternoon, time for cycling around the Tan Thach village and meeting the local villagers to experience the local daily life in the Mekong delta. Hammock relaxing and enjoying the cool breeze for those can’t join the cycling trip. Return to Ho Chi Minh.

Day 7: HO CHI MINH DEPARTURE

Relish a healthy breakfast on the final day of your trip. Complete the hotel check-out formalities, after which you can visit some local markets and buy souvenirs to help you remember your Vietnam adventure. You will be transferred to the airport, where you will have to bid a sad farewell to Vietnam.
