Sapa Trip Overview

You will go by mini bus or motorbike first to visit the Silver Waterfall which is about 12 km west of Sapa town and visit many villages in Sapa such as Lao Chai, Y Linh Ho, Giang Ta Chai.. We will pick you up from Hanoi and transfer to Sapa by Express Bus.
Y Linh Ho village is a small commune composed by a dozen of small hamlets scattering on the very tough mountain terrain with high and steep mountains. There are some hundred inhabitants from the Black H’mong only living in this commune. They built their rudimentary houses on their farmland and mainly cultivate corn and dry rice on the steep hillsides. The only way to get to the commune is on foot from the main road. This village is home to the Black Mong who wear very dark clothing in blacks and navy dyed with indigo (often seen on the hands of older Mong women)

What to Expect When Visiting Sapa, Lao Cai Province, Vietnam

Itinerary

Day 1: Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van village – Muong Hoa valley (-/ L/ D)

Stop At: Sapa, Sapa, Lao Cai Province
06:30: Free pick up at your hotel in the Old Quarter of Hanoi and transfer to Sapa E.

07:00: Start departure to Sapa. The tour guide will explain to you about the trip and Sapa. Then you will be served mineral water and some snacks.
Along the way, you will have chance to contemplate the beauty of northwest mountains that terraced fields are sparkling in sunlight or dim in thick fog. Have a short break for 30 minutes then continue the trip to Sapa.

12h30: Arrive in Sapa.

14h00: You will begin yours 12 km trek on small trails down the Muong Hoa Valley toward Lao Chai village of Black H’mong ethnic people. Here we will discover their daily life and how they make traditional clothes, handicraft, indigo… We will visit the biggest valley which provides the best view for golden rice terrace fields in Vietnam. After Lao Chai we walk to Ta Van village of Giay people. It is a small group of ethnic people in Vietnam with a rich culture and beautiful houses located on rice paddy fields.

Lao Chai & Ta Van Villages, about 8 km from Sapa town, where black H’mong and Dzay people are living, it is also the beginning of the valley which is called Muong Hoa. From a high point of the main road, great view of the whole villages open wide to offer the marvelous panorama views, backed by high mountains and facing the river. Here you will enjoy the fresh air, see terraced fields and stream, discover and visit some of Black H’mong families. You will have a welcome feeling at any house of the hospitable people there. You can interact them, learn about their culture and customs…

Day 2: Ta Van – Dzang Ta Chai villages – Hanoi (B/ L/-)

Stop At: Sapa, Sapa, Lao Cai Province
After breakfast, we continue to visit Red Dao people at Giang Ta Chai where we also see a waterfall. Red Dao women have very colorful red embroidery and coins on their clothing. On their head they wear a red scarf. Some of them have shaved off their eyebrows because of a nice Red Zao Legend.

We will walk to the rice fields where we’ll have a nice photo session of the amazing surrounding landscapes. A trek through the bamboo forest gives you the experience of Vietnam tropical jungle. Along the way, we will stop nearby a waterfall to have a panorama view of Giang Ta Chai village and have lunch.

After a picnic lunch, walking to Ban Ho, where the village lies within a beautiful valley, home to Tay minority who has their traditional houses on stilts and we will share a home-stay night here.

Day 3: Ban Ho – Nam Toong – Sapa – Hanoi (B/L/-)

Stop At: Sapa, Sapa, Lao Cai Province
wo kilometers walking to a very nice waterfall discovered and named “The Lavie” by the French during their colonial time in Vietnam. Enjoy swimming then go up to the mountain to visit a small hamlet of the Red Dzao people called Nam Toong.

Come to Ban Ho, you get chance not only to view wonderful spots, enjoy fresh air but also to see natural beauty. You will have opportunity to see water fall, go swimming in hot water pool or cold water stream, find out traditional weave fabric, make brocade… and take part in community activities. You will be alive and living in the cozy ambiance and friendly family. Because the climate in Ban Ho is warmer than Sapa (between 18-250C), in the afternoon, tourists can enjoy yourself in the stream Lavie, sight Da Nhay waterfall

After Nam Toong be back to Ban Ho village for lunch and by car to Sapa.

16:00: It‘s time to say “Good bye Sapa!” and drive back to Hanoi. Along the way, once again you have a chance to enjoy the magical beauty of northwest mountains.

21:00: We arrive in Hanoi.
