What makes Hue Walking Food Tour a unique experience ?
We will take you to enjoy Com hen, which is a rice dish with rural ingredients like baby mussels (hen) and fresh herbs combined through a sophisticated process. The mussels are boiled to create the broth adding sweetness and depth to the rice.
You will enjoy 3 traditional cakes
1. Beo Cake`s Hue is a rice flour cake that is placed into an aluminum blister or a small cupand then steamed. It usually has a dimple in the middle that is covered with a savory mixture that includes fresh shrimp, mung beans, and fried shallots
2. Bánh bột lọc” is one of the most popular cakes of Hue. The cake will be steamed, after well cooked remove the leaf to eat. The dough is so transparent that you can see the shrimp filling inside. The other don’t have a leaf cover but simply dumped, then put on a plate, enhance the flavor with fried onions. This cake must be served with a sweet sour fish sauce.
3. Nam cake (steamed shrimp rice cake) is made of rice flour, shrimp, wrapped in phrynium leaves and served with fish sauce.
Next you will move to another side of city to try Bánh Khoái, which is (Vietnamese pancake) in Hue, is delicious thanks to the secret of mixing flour and broth made from more than 10 spices to create a thick sauce.
Walk along the Huong river, cross the most famous Truong Tien bridge in Hue, then you will enjoy Bún bò Huế which is is a Vietnamese cusine. It’s a rich and spicy soup with deep layers of flavor. This Central Vietnamese soup is paired with tender slices of beef and pork, then topped with lots of fresh herbs.
After Bun Bo Hue, we will take you try the most unique bread in Viet Nam called Banh Mi, which is a Vietnamese sandwich that’s made up of an odd sounding combination – crusty bread rolls smeared with pate, mayo, suspicious looking Asian ham, pickled vegetables, green onion, coriander/cilantro, a mighty wack of fresh chillies and drizzle of seasoning.
You will end the tour with Hue sweet soup, so-called “Che Hue”, is a popular Vietnamese street food. It can be either a dessert or a mid-day snack. Che Hue is probably the most famous in the country. Like any dish from Hue, Che Hue is delicious, sophisticated, and subtle.
