Hoi An Trip Overview
In 2019, Hoi An citizens and visiting tourists produced an average of 102 tons of waste each day. And it quickly exceeds the limited capacity of available landfill sites. Government policy combined with grassroots practices on waste segregation are unable to fulfill the need for waste disposal and recycling, because organic, inorganic and toxic waste is often mixed and in great volumes, damaging the environment and threatening public health. Among the various waste-related needs, we need to find new and practical ways to convert bio-waste into a useful resource.
We’ll share with you, through the experience of bio-waste treatment, an inspiration for reducing waste and improving resource use. Life can be seen in a whole new perspective when we work at a microbial level and we see the magic that microbes can do! If you come to work with us, we’ll also develop composting methods which you can practice at home, and we’ll reconnect with nature through a bio-life-cycle.
