Following convenient hotel pickup in Ho Chi Minh City, travel with your guide to the Cu Chi tunnels. An immense network of subterranean passageways, the Cu Chi tunnels played an important role for military campaigns during the Vietnam War. Before entering the tunnels themselves, watch a documentary about their construction. Then begin exploring the underground routes, listening to stories about the operations that took place there from your expert guide.

Stop At: My Tho, My Tho, Tien Giang Province, Mekong Delta
After you’ve navigated the historic tunnels, return to present-day Vietnam with a trip to My Tho, where you board a boat and set off on the Mekong River Delta. The delta is a biological treasure trove with over 1,000 animal species prospering in the area. As you cruise, your guide explains how life in the region revolves around the river. Pass through rich orchards and coconut groves whose abundant trees are fed by the Mekong’s waters, and pause for the chance to sample lush, seasonal produce and freshly made coconut candy. In the evening, return to shore and get chauffeured back to your hotel.
