Ninh Binh – ‘Ha Long Bay on land’

Hanoi Trip Overview

With our exclusive tour, you are offered to visit the ancient Dinh King temple in the Hoa Lu ancient Citadel where the peaceful panoramic blue lake view is enjoyed then to discover Am Tien Cave at Tuyet Tinh Coc (Tiger Cave). There are so many caves formed naturally or artificially inside the Limestone Mountains and this made Ninh Binh a worth-the-visit place.

Our sampan boat rides on Ngo Dong River starting from Pier Van Lam shall take you through caves, rice fields and past the ever so unique karst rocks while breathing in the fresh air. What’s also interesting here in Ninh Binh is that the peddlers have learned to peddle with their feet. Yes, these incredible skillful ladies use their feet to peddle because some of these caves here are so small and you shall have to duck your heads.

After the visit to the ancient Bich Dong Pagoda, built right into a cave with three floors, you shall enjoy cycling around and seeing the landscapes from different perspectives.

Stop At: Ninh Binh Province, Ninh Binh Province

100km south of Hanoi, the magical Ninh Binh, located in northern Vietnam, is also known as the “Ha Long Bay on Land” for an obvious reason – it looks like Ha Long Bay but on land instead of water.

The stunning landscapes here in Ninh Binh with mountains, rivers, caves, rice fields, and pagodas are right out of a movie set (no wonder the latest King Kong movie was filmed here). It was a breath of fresh air from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi, that’s for sure.

Even though the big cities in Vietnam are cool, the relaxing spots like this are where the real charm is, we reckon!

Ninh Binh must be a sight not to be missed. It is a sight for sore eyes.

From 7.30 am – 8.00 am, Hana Tourist’s Car will offer a convenient pickup at your designated hotel or location in Hanoi Old Quarter.

We shall reach Hoa Lu ancient Capital at around 10: 10 to visit the King Dinh temple.

At 11:00, we head to discover Am Tien Cave and enjoy the stunning lake site at Tuyet Tinh Coc (Tiger Cave).

The buffet lunch with Vietnamese cuisine at a local restaurant shall be ready to serve at noon.

After lunch, you shall then enjoy the 2-hour round trip Sampan boat trip through the three emerald water caves (which mean Tam Coc in Vietnamese) on the beautiful Ngo Dong River and overlook the countryside landscape.

At 15:00, you shall be able to cycle on the peaceful countryside roads to Bich Dong Pagoda. Don’t be afraid to head off into the tiny paths, wave at the locals as they plow through the rice, stop and watch the variety of animals (cows, chickens, ducks, and wild horses) as they graze about in their natural habitat and most importantly, take a moment to take it all in! This is real life in Vietnam. You will have around 40 minutes to visit this ancient Pagoda before heading back Hanoi at 16:30.

Tour ends at 18:30 as we reach the capital center.
