What makes Hanoi Bicycle Tours: Full Day Countryside Bicycle Tours a unique experience ?
At 8:00 am, your tour guide will pick you up and take you to our bicycle store where you can select a suitable bike. After getting comfortable with your bicycle and receiving a safety briefing, we will start our ride!
We will begin our tour by crossing the Red River via the Long Bien Bridge, which is over a century old and was built during French colonial times. From here, guests can enjoy a panoramic view of the Red River, observe boats floating below, and witness the lush vegetable farms on the nearby island.
Next, we’ll pedal along the Red River’s banks to explore the breathtaking beauty of Vietnam’s countryside and witness farmers cultivating their lands. Along the way, we’ll stop at a local family’s home where they make bonsai, an intricate art form. Our guide will translate as we chat with the family, providing us with a unique opportunity to learn more about local daily life and traditions. It’s a wonderful way to experience the local culture firsthand.
Next, we will continue our bike ride to a local wet market where we can sample a variety of tropical fruits. We will also take a break at Lotus Lake to quench our thirst with sugarcane juice or other local refreshments.
As we pedal through the dirt roads and rural villages, we will eventually reach the Co Loa Ancient Citadel. This citadel, built in 200 BC, holds great historical significance in Vietnam as a symbol of the country’s long-standing tradition of defending against foreign invaders, particularly that of Thuc Phan An Duong Vuong.
After lunch at a local family’s home, the tour continues in the afternoon with more cycling through the countryside and along the river bank, enjoying the refreshing breeze of the Red River. Along the way, we will pass through beautiful villages and fields of Northern Vietnam’s countryside, until we reach a local boat station. From there, we will take a relaxing cruise on the Red River back to Hanoi. Once back in the city, we will stop for a unique Egg Coffee to satisfy your caffeine cravings before returning to your hotel. The tour concludes around 4:00-4:30 pm.
We’ll make a visit to a local family making bonsai to learn about this intricate art form and admire some of the stunning plant creations. This is a wonderful way to learn more about local daily life and tradition, our guide will assist us to chat with them as a translator.
