The Pacaya Volcano is one of the most active volcanoes in Guatemala, with a height of approximately 2,500 meters above sea level. The environment is made up of wet forests and rocks. It has stunning views of the Calderas Lagoon which we visit from the seat of our ATVs and three other volcanoes: Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango. On our unique Adventure we will take ATVs from San Vicente Pacaya to various areas near and around the Pacaya Volcano. We will go on various trails to some of the villages located at the base of the volcano, where we are able to hike up the side of the volcano on top of the petrified lava flow as high as you are able to go. Throughout the tour we will be able to admire different views of the volcanoes and drive through some of the villages. We will drive through different off road trails, and we will even take some time to drive on the volcanic sand and lava fields inside of a private plantation. We DO NOT go to the San Vicente Pacaya National park.

Spend a good half day exploring the ceremonial center of the Mam Mayan culture on your visit to the Volcano and Laguna de Chicabal. View Mayan altars where ceremonies were held celebrating important dates on the Mayan calendar. Also lots of birds to see as well as local agricultural activities . Nice and not that difficult to do with children and / or elderly people using the local 4×4 called " el torito " .

Then you will ride a horse for 2-3 hours around the grassland and the beautifull volcano. In the way back we will enjoy a lunchbox and then continue to the Limpiopungo lagoon. The lagoon is located in a flat highland where you will hike for 1 hour around it. That is an amazing place to see the local plants, flowers and birds. The tour of Lagoons & Volcanoes is a combination of two activities ( a walking trail and afternoon minivan tour with focus on the volcanology aspect) with lunch with drinks included, in a total of 8 hours of tour. Enjoy the morning part through the hiking trail of Mistérios Negros, a 5-kilometer walk that stands out for its extreme natural beauty, be it lagoons and cryptomeria forests or endemic vegetation (Azoric), or even volcanic landscape. Its level of difficulty is medium, with ap. 100 mt, in an irregular terrain. In the afternoon part you're invited to visit the interior of an empty volcano, walk through a fumarolic field, explore the interior of the lava tunnel of Gruta do Natal, and stroll through the natural pools in the parish of Biscoitos. We inform that the stop of Algar do Carvão is closed since October, and will be for 18 months, due to construction works in their visitors center.

Enjoy a walk through the snowy Chimborazo, called the closest point to the Sun from the center of the earth, where you can observe flora and fauna typical of the Ecuadorian moors, in addition, appreciate the perpetual snow of the Colossus of the Andes. Added to this experience is the fact of being able to visit one of the few remnants of the Polylepis forest or paper tree in the area called El Arenal.
