Experience the beauty of the Swartberg mountains (UNESCO World Heritage site) as you travel to the summit of the world famous, Swartberg Pass. This national monument dates back to 1881 and offers stunning panoramic views of the Little and Great Karoo which you can overlook over 200km with your bare eyes. From the summit guests are able to take a walk in the reserve between 500 different species of fauna and flora. There are several photo opportunities along this winding route which will leave you at awe. After the hike there’s an opportunity to add downhill mountain biking to get the adrenalin pumping. (Additional costs apply.) After the tour enjoy Traditional Karoo Cuisine at Kobus se Gat Restaurant. Feast on certified Karoo lamb chops, boerewors, ostrich kebabs, pumpkin fritters and variety of salads and vegetables all freshly harvested from the gardens at the restaurant. Freshly baked Roosterkoek (traditional bread) served with homemade marmalades forms part of the meal.

Climb the world famous Sani Pass to 2874 metres above sea level, stopping for lunch at the Highest Pub in Africa and then onto visiting a living Basotho Village in Skeering, Lesotho. We look forward to seeing you! After lunch the tour continues into a living Basotho village, where your experienced mountain guide will interest you on Lesotho and its people. Traditional beer and homemade bread offered on request. You will wind down the Sani Pass after this cultural experience and arrive back in Underberg between 4pm – 4:30pm, depending on the wildlife spotted along the way.

Guided half-day Swartberg Pass eco-tour. The Swartberg Mountains is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Swartberg Pass is a National Monument (gravel road)  and ascents 900m until you reach the summit. The tour includes a leisure walk on a Swartberg Mountain Trail with panoramic vistas over the Klein-and Great Karoo.
