Tokyo Sumo Wrestling Tournament Experience – Chair Seat
Watch Japan’s unique and traditional sport Sumo with a knowledgeable tour guide.
If you are in Tokyo in January, March or September, you should not miss it!(the tournaments take place 6 times a year; 3 times in Tokyo, once in Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka respectively. Each tournament lasts for 15 days. )
Meet your English speaking guide at the JR Ryogoku station and walk to the stadium(2mins walk). Your guide will talk you through what is Sumo, its history and rules before entering the stadium and give you additional tips in between the bouts.
Feel the intense, serious atmosphere of the tournament while you are free to grab some beer, Yakitori(skewers), etc.. at the vendor inside the stadium and eat/drink at your seat. *Food and drinks are not included in this tour.

For customers who book a meal option, enjoy a satisfying meal of "Tonkatsu" (Japanese-style Pork Cutlet) for Lunch, and Sukiyaki for dinner, and "Chanko Nabe" (Sumohouse-style hotpot soup), all made by the wrestlers. Take the rare opportunity and try wrestling with retired sumo wrestlers.
For vegetarians, the restaurant will offer vegetarian dishes at the restaurant’s discretion. The restaurant will offer substitute ingredients for those who can not eat pork at the restaurant’s discretion.

Tokyo Sumo Entertainment Show with Chicken Hot Pot and Photo

If you want to experience sumo firsthand, the highlight of the event will be the opportunity to enter the ring yourself. Feel what it’s like to be in the ring as you have a go at being a rikishi, or sumo wrestler.
*If there are many applicants, one representative in a group or a lottery may be held.
As well as experiencing sumo, receive a photo with a sumo wrestler, and take home an original sumo goods set as souvenirs.
Tokyo Grand Sumo Tournament Viewing Tour with Tickets
Enjoy a unique experience that's simply not possible by just watching on TV! Come face to face with Japanese culture that has been kept alive through many years, such as the presence of a referee which began in the Sengoku period (about 1467-1603), and the use of vivid 'kesho-mawashi' ceremonial aprons and the ring entering procession which have continued from the Edo period (1603-1868), on this tour guided by a National Government Licensed English Guide Interpreter knowledgeable about sumo wrestling. Watch sumo, Japan's national sport, from comfortable 2nd Floor chair seats. All tour participants will receive "The Sumo," a booklet about sumo (in English); and Banzuke-hyo, a table of rankings, as a gift! Sumo Tournament Experience in Tokyo
The Sumo Tournament Experience in Tokyo with Japan Awaits is an experience at the famous Grand Sumo Tournament that occurs only three times a year in Tokyo (January, May, and September). The experience allows guests to learn about sumo traditions and culture with an English-speaking tour guide (expert in sumo wrestling) while watching one of the most exciting sports in Japan. This is a join-in group experience with about 15 – 20 guests (minimum of 15 people is required to operate this tour; if we do not have enough bookings, the tour will be canceled and the guest will receive a full refund).
During the Sumo Tournament Off-Season: Join in Small Group to visit a sumo stable with an expert guide to observe morning practice up-close. With audio headsets, learn about training rituals and techniques. After the session, get unforgettable access – converse and share tea with the wrestlers themselves and enjoy comfortable seating with ample legroom and savor a delicious chanko lunch

④From 16:00 to around 18:00 is the highlight. Japanese TV broadcasts will begin as well. It's the time when particularly strong sumo wrestlers start their intense matches!
⑤Around 18:00, after the final match, the tour will be disbanded.
Sumo Training Watching Experience in Tokyo

Sumo is a Japanese national sport. It is very sacred and most powerful. Let's go to see the Sumo training at a stable!
It is a valuable experience to be able to see serious training right in front of you and can feel the breath and heat up close, which you can't feel in a big game. What is happening is we will provide live commentary using our original documents!
You can see it closer than the matches and you will feel the sound of the fight and the passion of the wrestlers.
After training, you can take photos with wrestlers.
Sumo wrestling matches are held far away many times a year. In addition, there are other training camps, so the time I'm in Tokyo is less. Date requests are not accepted.
Participating in this is not easy. It is even more difficult for foreign visitors to Japan. Please join us for this experience!

Ryogoku sumo town history / culture and chanko-nabe lunch
This small group tour with commentaries by a sumo expert guide gives you a chance to get to know all about sumo including its history / culture, and sumo wrestlers' daily life. While you may or may not have a chance to see real sumo bouts during your stay in Japan, this tour will prime you with all the background knowledge to increase your joy of watching sumo, be it in Japan or back home.
The tour consists of two components.
1) Walking tour around Ryogoku, a sumo town.
Visit sumo-related landmarks; learn how sumo started and developed over 1600 years. Look at sumo stables from outside where sumo wrestlers live and train. Learn from your knowledgeable guide how their life and career look like. Get answers to any sumo-related questions.
2) Lunch at a chanko-nabe restaurant
Have lunch at one of the best chanko-nabe restaurants in Ryogoku.
This nutrient hot-pot dish is in the centerpiece of sumo wrestlers’ diet to gain weight and muscles to build their bodies.

Osaka: Sumo Show and Kimono Haori Experience without food
Sumo Restaurant Ochi Izumi-beya is an entertainment restaurant where you can enjoy watching a sumo show by former sumo wrestlers supervised by former Ozeki KONISHIKI, chanko-nabe, Japanese food such as Japanese street food and sushi, and wearing a kimono. After the sumo show, guests can have their picture taken with former sumo wrestlers and experience sumo wrestling in the sumo ring.
Other fun features include an original label drink where you can create your own sticker with your travel memories, and the Koni-chan Zone with a variety of Konishiki goods.

Our journey begins at Edo NOREN, the town's tourist hub. We will introduce temples with deep connections to sumo, Ryogoku's famous sweets, various sumo goods, and other matters related to sumo.
At the end of the tour we will give you the tickets to watch the game and end before the game starts. Afterwards, enjoy the moment of frenzy with all your senses and with your whole body.
The tour will end at 3 p.m. and the games will continue from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The sumo matches get more intense in the second half of the day, and you will be amazed at how dynamic they are!
