Moving on to the venue that Brian Epstein, manager of the Beatles, took over and put on the legendary Jimi Hendrix one fateful night in 1967! See Paul McCartneys business headquarters! British RocknRoll started at this particular coffee bar. Then onwards to the famous Marquee where all the greats played. Then explore where the Beatles recorded their first release on Apple records! For those who want to, we will then finish in an beautiful old, historic English pub, which has had many famous guests over the years, where I will tell you stories of my personal involvement in the music business!

British Punk was born in the Kings Road Chelsea but came of age in the clubs and dives of Soho and the surrounding area. Soho was a very different area in the mid seventies so join your guide Aidan McManus as he brings it to life and introduces you to the seminal historic punk characters and sites. The Clubs, Marquee, Vortex, 100 Club, Roxy, Louise's and Notre Dame Hall, Strip club gigs, inspirational market stalls and boozers,where was the first Sex Pistols gig? Crash pads, Lesbian club hangouts and The Jam having run ins with the law, this tour has it all!! The tour lasts two hours but the walking part takes less than half of it as we stop and I talk about the above places, its not a trek, it goes ahead whatever the weather.

From late 1950's visits with his older brother until he moved to New York in 1974 David Bowie was a face on the make in Soho's music scene and the roots of everything he became can be traced back to his time here. He was in R&B bands like The King Bees, The Manish Boys, Davy Jones and The Lower Third, The Buzz, The Riot Squad. He went solo and recorded an Anthony Newleyesque album in 1967 then met Lindsay Kemp in Soho and entered his mime Phase and formed a folk trio, Feathers. His next band, Hype, included Tony Visconti and Mick Ronson. He had his first hit with "Space Oddity" and then formed The Spiders From Mars. All his classic early 70s stuff was recorded in Trident Studios in Soho and without a decade of gestation/failue in the area would he have been the same artist? This tour visits the sites that shaped and formed Bowie in the 1960s/70s and enabled him to become the superstar he was, the location of Album covers and recording studios.
