4 Days Mount Kenya Climbing – Sirimon Route
Much more scenic than Naromoru and it is on the drier side of the mountain which offers some of the finest walking. Climb up through forest into a wide ridge approach to the summit area. The route starts on the northwest side of the mountain near Nanyuki. Access is adequate and the bunk house facilities are the best on this side of the mountain. Though Mount Kenya summit can be reached in 4 days as per the below itinerary, we strongly recommend an overnight acclimatization at the base in Nanyuki town. Mount Kenya Chogoria- Sirimon Route Expedition 8Days/7Nights.
The Chogoria route is the most scenic, with a thrilling view to summit Batian (5199m) on the Eastern side. The quieter walk along the Gorges Valley, rivers, tarns, and lakes stocked with rainbows and waterfalls is exhilarating. These sceneries have a fantastic charm that brings peace and solitude into magnificent mountain hikes. Chogoria route is the best to see elephants and buffalo in the lower forest above the bamboo forest and duiker, eland, and zebra at higher altitudes. The trail is longer and perfect for acclimatization over a great 8-day climb, then descend using the Sirimon route that passes through beautiful alpine scenery and impressive yellowwood forests.
6 Days Mount Kenya Climbing through Sirimon Route
The most popular route although not the most scenic. It is also the fastest route to point Lenana. Take this classic route up Mount Kenya though the notoriously treacherous vertical bog and into the wide Teleki Valley beneath the Tryndall, The Lewis Glacier.
Though the summit can be reached in 4 days as per the below itinerary, we strongly recommend an overnight acclimatization at the base, Naromoru River Lodge. This can be arranged for at an extra fee

The hike will take four days through Sirimon route this is the easiest
route to reach Point Lenana. The route is on dry side of the mountain
so it offers magical views and affords walks through old growth forest
5 Days Mount Kenya Trekking Through Sirimon in Chogoria Route
Our activity will start at 7:00am where by our driver will pick you from your hotels or residence and head to Nanyuki which is about 4 hours. When you arrive in Nanyuki you will head towards Sirimon gate which is few minutes from Nanyuki Town where our trek starts .This creative climb joins two scenic routes of Mount Kenya , Sirimon and Chogoria , producing a remarkably diverse and spectacular trek. Sirimon coming off the West of Mount Kenya passes through the dry side of the Mountain with its giant trees and rocky terrain, and the descent onto the Chogoria path is totally different with its lush bamboo and highland forests.
The final night time ascent of Point Lenana can be difficult as any ascent in East Africa , but the rest of the trek is generally considered easier than either Kilimanjaro and Rwenzoris , and this is most likely climbfor actually seeing the big game.
Accommodation on this hike is in Mountain huts, the Old Moses Camp, Shipton Camp .
4 Days Mount Kenya Trek Using the Sirimon Route

Trek using the Sirimon Route will watch birds, pass through
the tropical rain forests at the lower altitudes of the mountain,
amidst the small wildlife and breathtaking scenery.
As the trek reaches Day 2 the high altitude mountain plants
will be visible and the weather will get cooler. The
trekkers should have warm clothing and be physically fit.

5 Days Mount Kenya Trekking – Sirimon – Naro Moru Route
Sirimon route is considered by many to represent Mt Kenya one of the easiest route to reach the summit Point Lenana. It offers almost 95% to reach the summit. The route is on dry side of the mountain and affords walks through old growth forest on lower slopes and giant heather,alphine flowers and lobelia in higher elevations.

The Chogoria route is arguably the most magnificent ascent route to the summit area. It is not the driest route though up the mountain. The walk beside the Gorges Valley truly spectacular. Accommodation on this hike is camping on all nights on the mountain

Mount Kenya is Africa’s second highest mountain at 5,199m (17,058 feet) and the highest of all Kenya Mountains. Mount Kenya is roughly circular, about 60km across at the 200mm contour, where the steep font hills rise out of the gentler slopes of the centered highlands. At the centre of the massif, the main peaks rise sharply from around 4,500m to the main summit of Batian 5,199m, Nelion 5,188m and point Lenana 4,985m. Other major summits on the mountain include Point Piggott 4,957m, Point Dutton 4,885 and Point John 4,883m. Of the three main peaks (Batian, Lenana and Nelion), only point Lenana can be reached by trekkers and the other two being only for technical climbers.
