Full Day East of Madeira Tour


Start this tour towards Pico do Arieiro, the highest mountain accessible by car and the third highest on the island (1818m). Here you will be amazed by the fantastic views over the mountains and the island. Descent towards Ribeiro Frio, located in the Laurissilva forest, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where nature lives in perfect harmony. Continuing along the north coast, pass through Faial and arrive at Santana, a village known for its typical and original thatched roof houses. After lunch, admire Ponta de São Lourenço, with several rock formations and impressive views. Arrive in Machico, a historic town where the discoverers first landed in 1419. Return to the Hotel.

Madeira East Tour from Funchal


You’ll ascend to the island’s third-highest mountain, Pico de Arieiro, which affords stunning island views. The next stop is Ribeiro Frio, the starting point of a famous levada (irrigation channel) walk, where you’ll marvel at trout pools and learn about the prehistoric forest that covers Madeira. Following lunch in the colorful town of Santana, you’ll visit more incredible lookout points such as Ponta de São Lourenço, and stop off at Machico before drop-off at your Funchal accommodation.

Departure from the hotel at 9:00 am towards the parish of Camacha to observe the wicker factory and all its process. Afterwards, climb to Pico do Areeiro at 1818m, where you can observe the beautiful mountains and surrounding valleys and even the parish of Curral das nuntas, deep in one of the great valleys. Descent to Ribeiro Frio, where there is a nursery of trout that later are dropped in the brook. A visit to the center of Santana is followed to observe the typical triangular houses with thatched roof, followed by another stop in Faial. Returning to Funchal, you will have two more stops, at the belvedere of Ponta de São Lourenço and Machico. Return to the hotel by 5:00 p.m.

Walking with a small company and with a very small group will make you enjoy this 4- to 5-hour activity on the Ponta de São Lourenço peninsula. The Ponta de São Lourenço Trail is a popular hiking trail located in Madeira, Portugal. It is situated at the easternmost point of the island and offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean. The trail is approximately 8km long and takes around 3-4 hours to complete. The terrain is rocky and rugged, with steep inclines and declines, making it a moderately challenging hike. However, the stunning coastal scenery and diverse flora and fauna along the way make it a rewarding experience. Local Farmers Market and 4WD Experience from Funchal


Sunday's its a great time to join this tour and mix with the locals. This half day experience available morning and afternoon, and will take you to visit the local farmers market in Santo da Serra, where you can see the farmers seling they fruits and vedgetables, local bread, licours home made, infusions drinks, this is the market where the "madeirenses" goes for shopping. Explore also other areas, Christ the King view point and stunning views, Santa Cruz, Morena where we have steep roads to reach hidden villages, terraces and really amazing landscapes.


Referta Castelejo Levada Walk from Funchal


This is an easy hike and quite pleasant! The scenery is breathtaking and completely different from any other area in Madeira.


Maroços – Mimosa Valley


This walk situated in Machico, an easy path along the levada where you will see some locals along the the way going about their everyday tasks such as maintaining their land and animals. At the different times of the year an abundance of flowers can be admired


Vereda do Larano: Machico to Porto da Cruz via Boca do Risco


This walk connects Machico to Porto da Cruz through an old footpath once used by the local people to move from one place to another to do exchange business. This was a path once used by local people to travel between these two locations that offers breathtaking views of the north coast of the island and with an adventurous coastal path above the sea.

Larano Walking Tour


We started this course in the village of Porto da Cruz and ended in Machico. The route is made by footpath, once used by locals to transport their crops from Porto da Cruz to Machico south. Along the way we have fabulous views of the north coast and in some days you can see the island of Porto Santo.
