On the East side of Madeira lies a really popular tour which offers dramatic mountain and forest views, as well as some of the best coastal views available on the island. Rabaçal is an unique and magical place full of waterfalls and fountains. This levada walk is the most famous and beautiful in Madeira. This experience will start with about 3 hours walk including 800 mts through a volcanic rock tunnel leading us to an evergreen forest providing beautiful landscapes. On this hike, we will have the opportunity to admire beautiful waterfalls, natural spring water and its endemic species of fauna and flora. After this great walk, we will have a lunch break (not included) in a Madeiran restaurant at Paúl da Serra, the biggest plateau of the island about 1400 mts high with stunning views. Later, we go downhill through a fantastic off-road expedition, where you will enjoy the fragrance of the exotic eucalyptus forest. Continuing, we go to Cabo Girão with the highest sea cliff of Europe at 580 mts, known by its suspended glass floor viewpoint which offers a spectacular panoramic view over the Atlantic Ocean and Câmara de Lobos Bay. The Valley of Rabaçal is one mother nature's greatest masterpieces. Descending from the plateau of Paul da Serra, we arrive at the Rabaçal guesthouse and from there we walk to the Risco waterfall. We then continue downwards towards the levada das 25 Fontes until reaching a small lake. This lake is located at the bottom of a cliff from where 25 natural springs cascade into the small lake. We shall return through a different path passing through a tunnel that carries water to the south side of the island.

A walk along some of the most remote places of the island is highly recommended. We shall walk through a waterfall and go through some small tunnels and then arrive at the incredible waterfall of Caldeirão Verde.

The levada walk will allow hikers to enjoy the evergreen and luxuriant Rabacal valley situated within the natural park of Madeira, in the North West of the island and discover the concealed treasures of the indigenous Laurisilva forest with its abundance of mosses, lichens and ferns. This is an easy hike and quite pleasant! The scenery is breathtaking and completely different from any other area in Madeira.

This  Levada walkst starts at the intersection of the regional road with Levada do Norte, somewhere between Garachico and a little below Cabo Girão. levada with the municipal road on the Boa Morte site (Ribeira Brava parish) or the Ribeira Brava village. Thus, the duration of 2 hours of 6 km
