Tortuguero National Park and Canals Day Trip from San Jose
This enchanted and secluded park is the save heaven of many different species of while life not only native of Costa Rica, but to the Americas. Travelling through the waters of the hidden lagoons and canals as the flowering vine covered trees blend in with their own water reflection we will have the unique experience of observing as close as possible several species of flora and fauna. It is easy to observe several species of crocodiles, toucan, monkeys, slots, macaws, iguanas and some others. Among such species we find the majestic green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) which has in Tortuguero 21 miles of beach to nest in (July to October); the largest nesting site of the western hemisphere. Tortuguero is considered the most important nesting site on the western half of the caribbean for the green turtle that comes to the beach to nest every year. . Please note that the nesting tour only takes place at night and you will not see turtles nesting on the beach during this one day tour.
Tortuguero National Park Day Trip from San Jose
It's time to be adventurous! Come and explore the rain forest covering over 29,000 hectares. Tortuguero is one of the main nesting sites of the Chelonia Midas, the endangered green sea turtle. Home to a wide variety of wildlife, the forests and waterways are inundated with sloths, monkeys, agoutis, coatimundis, crocodiles and manatees.
3 day / 2 night tour in Tortuguero
Come to know one of the most important destinations in your visit to Costa Rica. This town without access by road will show you a natural paradise that will captivate you.
In the early morning your guide will go to look for you at your hotel in San José. Along the way he will tell you about Costa Rica and Tortuguero. Halfway we will stop for breakfast before catching the boat to reach this peculiar town.
Once everything is arranged in your room in the lodge at the edge of the canal, you can eat before leaving in the afternoon to visit the town with the guide. Dinner also at the lodge.
The next day you will make 2 visits, one to the lodge reservation and another by boat through the Tortuguero canals (entrance to the National Park not included). Of course, all meals in the lodge between excursions.
The third day after breakfast, you will return by boat to San José or if you prefer to Guápiles from where you can connect to another destination in Costa Rica.

Feel the adrenaline while you put your mental strength to the test! Overcome the highest level of challenges with this rope circuit at 23 meters above the ground. Visualize the waterfall at your feet while you whip up a strategy and push your will towards the uncertainty of high altitudes.
Have fun in this first challenge, where you will have to find stability while you cross over a bridge made of steel cables. Then, breathe deep while you cross the log that will take you to your next adventure: the Tightrope. But don’t worry! This isn’t the hardest part.
Afterwards, you will find a very particular bridge: it will make you calculate your next steps very carefully in order to keep your balance while you cross it. At the end, you will have to resolve your descent using a wall with climbing holds; this is where, with great relief and pride, you end this spectacular adventure in the forest heights.
