Climb aboard the ‘Dutch Apple II’ for a 90-minute ride along the Hudson River. A Hudson River Narration is given along the way, sharing historical anecdotes and recalling interesting facts about the history of Albany and surrounding area. Bring binoculars to spot eagles or just sit back and enjoy the nature views and historic houses that line the riverbanks. Boarding begins 30 mins prior to departure. Cruise the sheltered waters of Oyster Harbour and the ancient Kalgan River whilst listening to a live and humerous commentary about the history, wildlife and why Albany is the home of ANZAC. Departs at 9am from Emu Point Boat pens for 4 hours of wild life history and fun. This is a sheltered water cruise with no open sea. We cross to Green Island which was Western Australia’s first vegetable garden and is now home to one of only four Pelican breeding grounds in Western Australia. Then cross Oyster Harbour to the Kalgan River. Seen regularly are Pelicans Eagles Hawks and a wide range of other bird life. You are served Tea Coffee and a hot savoury Damper while listening to a live and humorous commentary. Returning across the harbour to the boat pens at 1pm. Oh yes did I mention it’s FUN?

In 1914 over 41,000 service men and women left from Albany bound for World War I. For many this would be the last time they saw home.
